michaelzhao Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I've NEVER had any problems with Newegg, and I've built just about 2 complete systems on Newegg. Two of my friends have built their complete systems on Newegg. Between the 3 of us, we spent about 5500 dollars worth of merchandise on Newegg. Not a single mistake or problem I'm curious though, how many of you, have ever gotten a problem with Newegg? You hear the horror stories of other less reputable merchant websites, but Newegg? Never. Post only if Newegg is at fault. Like if you got something shipped to you, and it was broken, that means the shipping company is at fault. Lets hear 'em.... if any.... mike todd Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 In a PC World article, they said Newegg does about $5 million in business per day. I have ordered many parts from them and never had a problem.
Angry_Games Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 newegg's complaint rate will go up as their business goes up same with anything really when DFI Lanparty boards were relatively unknown, the complaint/RMA rate was so tiny as to be counted on hands and feet in a month now...people act like 50% of our boards are defective and point to the forums as "look at all the complaints!!!!" when they can't seem to understand that we are not selling 500-1000 boards a month now, we are selling 10,000-50,000 boards a month I've never had a single problem with newegg and I spend an average of $22k a year there. Spyvie Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I’ve had lots o probs with UPS shipping my Newegg package, but the Newegg CS rep has always been as helpful as possible, even offering RMAs when that’s not what I want. I will say there prices aren’t always the best bang for your buck. I think I just read something recently about Newegg going international, then there was that big piece on Anandtech about their completely automated system. They’ve come a long way from their brick and mortar EggHead Software origins.

ReelFiles Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Spent over $10k there last year, no problems and good RMA service. The only complaint I have is that $10K later all I got as an incentive were 2 newegg stickers.

n00bzor Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I bought everything in my sig from Newegg.com. I have never had a problem with them. They have been very reliable and sent me good stuff. I also have never had a problem with my DFI mobo; man I loves this mobo. Ima get another one, and build a second rig just for overclocking, b/c I have this rig running stable, running relatively cool, and running my games great. So I don't want to stop playing games to tweak it up anymore. So my next rig will be set up only for the OC baby. Knowotimsayin'? I am gonna see what I can do with a real simple configuration: I already have an extra AMD 4400+, 2x1GB OCZ Platinum PC3200, 400GB WD hardrive, and an exra Viewsonic LCD, so I just need a DFI mobo, 500W PSU, h20 cooling, el cheapo case, and a DVD burner, Windows XP Pro SP2, and that's it, no fancy keyboard, no crazy mouse, no speakers, no sound card, no fancy doo-dads or goo-gaws, just the basics, and no friggin' software, except benchmarks, and ima just pump that bee-otch to the XXXtreme. This is all going to happen as soon as I can convince my wife to let me spend some more money at Newegg.com, btw, in case you were wondering why I am telling you all this. SeanDude05 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Newegg is the best. Also spent about $10k there since this time last year. Coolest thing I got was some case stickers and a free Maxtor 300GB HDD because someone goofed.
Angry_Games Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 k well i just wanted to clarify that I love newegg and have no problems with them EXCEPT they used to be gung-ho FedEx and we got killer shipping @ killer shipping prices now they use UPS as their main...and I ordered a BenQ burner and 30-pack lightscribe DVD+R's on THURSDAY and it still isn't here and that isn't really what pisses me off what pisses me off is the 2 19" Viewsonic LCD monitors we ordered Saturday night...FedEx's cheapest rate was $56, vs $20 for UPS...so that leaves you really only UPS as a choice...and UPS has already screwed up because I just checked the tracking #, and they are STILL SITTING IN LOS ANGELES WAREHOUSE... If you guys remember the other thread I made about FedEx/UPS and why I refuse to use UPS...well, I also said that sometimes you got no real choice because the price difference is just too great. And somehow, that is what is happening at Newegg...the price difference between UPS and FedEx is getting larger and larger...$4.00 for UPS vs $13.50 for FedEx now...$56 vs $20...$18 vs $45... I'm really really angry because UPS not only is late 90% of the time, or leaves the items in a shipping station because they might *GASP* arrive with my package a day early (I mean come on, I can drive to CA in a single day in my car...FedEx only takes 48 hours MAX to arrive at my house), and then end up a day late...what takes FedEx 48 hours takes UPS 5 and 6 days. Oh...and the last 4 items I or a customer has ordered and used UPS...has arrived in a very damaged box (and one case was extremely damaged and now of course customer is fighting UPS for the claim which FedEx would have just submitted and paid). I'm really tempted to be a loser and do one of those 'internet petitions' to get Newegg to go back to FedEx I guess maybe FedEx was costing them too much money or they were losing money? Maybe UPS offered them too sweet of a rate? I don't know, but I find myself shopping at places that have much more acceptable FedEx rates now (and these days, newegg isn't the cheapest anymore in anything that I need...all places are within a dollar or five of newegg). /end rant
UncleDavid218 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 It's not really a "problem" (I love Newegg) but when I ordered at 7900GT at 5AM the day they were released I got a 7600GT instead of the 7900GT I ordered. In their defense I got my 7900GT by the next week...
