This man will not be on Sorrento's Christmas card list

Think draw would have been the expected result. Although b4 the sending off you had the feeling that mexico were starting to building up nicely, whilst portugal looked flatter in 2nd half.

Still ref managed to screw up what would have been a good close game, think the count was 8 yellow + red, a bit over the top for a match not particularly dirty.

Glad iran held out:)

its really a shame that you speak like that

i thought you were a good football fan...guess not.....

imo mexico is playing a very good game...our goalie had to make a couple of good defenses

its a shame that you must atack portugal like that....with false arguments......

dont tell me that the penalty was made up to.....

lubus mitchel is one of the best referees from fifa

but again

everyone can say whatever it wants.......sad that doenst reflect the game

cheers

I don't know where this come from... IMO Portugal played terrible, and Mexico played worse.

For Portugal it is understandable since they already qualified for second round; they tried their best to avoid doing anything that could give them any problem for the next game... which meant they tried their best to delay the game, play as little as posible and of course try NOT to crash into any Mexican player.

Mexico was starting to play better but this non existent dive from Luis Perez at Portugal's box with Miguel foul was terrible for the referee. This Slovaquian referee really made me feel good... good for our Mexican referees which I thought were the WORSE IN THE WORLD, guess there is someone worse!!!!!

Before the red card Mexico was still playing terrible... after they actually played better, as if they tried to do more than what they were doing. Its a shame the best player in midfield from my team (Monterrey) is missing the next game, I am not going to forgive this referee... never. If you think I am not a good fan, please tell me what are your thoughts on the play for the second yellow card

Then the missed PK... MADRE DE DIOS!!!! Portugal was terrible making that PK foul, and two more that the ref "didn't saw"... but what was even worse was MISSING IT!!!! GEEZ...

The result was deserved, Portugal might have played bad IMO... but they played with intelligence, there was no need for anything else except to keep a team level for when they face Netherlands, thats where Portugal messed up IMO: they should have played their best, now their momentum could be lost. We will see, after all the next game will be Portugal vs. Robben, not a team

Mexico is a really weird team. In this game the best player, Rafa Marquez, played terribly... the rest were so so, and still was enough to not only tie but maybe win the game, and this with 10 men. Against Argentina things could be really bad for Mexico, or all the way around: this "weirdness" could be enough to make the Argentinian team say "what tha? " when they start loosing the game LOL ; anything other than this super weapon (the weirdness), and we have our hands empty icon11.gif

No need to call for chillness Blik... everybody has their own opinion and I would be STOOOOOPID if I would forget that and loose temper. I actually lost it during the game: between the ineptitude from the Mexicans and the Referee, man it was understandable

Supershanks, I actually feel bad for the Slovakians back home... they are the ones who have to live game after game after game with such a personality... lol. Lets hope FIFA says "Thankyou, give my regards to your people" and keep using the proven good ref they have now.

totally chiled

btw.....hey sorrento...where does that player FONSECA plays

very good player.....dangerous ......does he play in europe or mexico?

very nice game......mexico with 10 was playing like with 11 ......

Jose Francisco "El Kikin" Fonseca plays here in Mexico, in team Cruz Azul: http://www.cruz-azul.com.mx/

IMO he is just weird... hehe, and funny, and sometimes thats enough to play well: sometimes its not how strong or gifter you are, but how many plays can you come up with to score goals :)

The goal keeper, the one who lost his father days before the start of the cup, already was offered a contract by Hannover 96... IMO he should acept it since he is no kid. Others like defense Carlos Salcido, very very young and quite good, was offered to play for Chelsea and now also from two French teams.

As for the Mexican team, if they keep playing like this... which is highly probable because Luis Perez is gone, then I would prefer them to return home and stop wasting my time and my life, which I literally left a little during the game

Ok, now the scary part of the day is about to start... who would it be: Argentina or Robben, err I mean Netherlands??? smiles-smilesemotixdgif6zz.gif

Chances for Portugal are complicated... but for Mexico are really slim... smiles-violin.gif

LOL, I am stealing smiles from another forum... hehe, some are really good, and I don't care if they get mad smil412d0c169eb27.gif

Haha, well not sure if I should feel good or bad or terrible or just die... ARGENTINA!!! Like we say over here: que Dios nos bendiga smil412d0ea488b99.gif

This is how Mexico will end up after next game: smiles-Okay__I_surrender.gif

But who knows, we all knew the next round rivals were going to be Argentina with small chances to be Netherlands... so maybe there is a trick on our sleeve and they will end up being the ones who smiles-bawl1.gif

Mexico is a specialist in complicating things to Argentina... while Portugal will have to dance at Robben's beat... smil412d0c169eb27.gif

I am glad for Ivory Coast... but I am afraid Chiquidracula could have something to do with the result: two PK's? I only saw one red card, but I am pretty sure at least another one was given... smiles-icon_rolleyes.gif

I still believe steelballzz needs to understand my point of view... like this -> smiles-Bam.gif

But in the end all we need is a glass of this wonderful juice -> smil3dbd4e4c2e742.gif (btw, looks like Guiness smil412d0d8a81667.gif)

As for these smile/emoticons things... hehe, I am keeping them in my ISP's web space: they are perfect for almost any occasion smil3dbd4e5e7563a.gif

This post was just a joke... no offense was intended... and as such it was only smil412d0e2f1fbe7.gif

Argentina v netherlands was a good game, argentina were awsome most of the game, BUT had a feeling holland were going to knick it in the last 5~10 minutes. would have been sad but hey that's football.

Yeah, and to be honest I was hoping they do that... LOL but I think Netherlands is more complicated for Mexico than Argentina, like proven by Portugal early today.

Did you knew Teves? He plays for Corinthians (Brazil) and pretty much is the guy with 10 other players. He won't start the next game, probably will enter in second half... which is deadly. The defenders used on this match were from the second team as well... which is also scary. An Macherano... well, maybe I should not watch the game... smiles-Super_Surprize.gif

Only real weakness of Argentina is Riquelme... which so far hasn't been covered by their rival's defense well. In Villareal he is nearly useless because in the LFP defense is very rough, to not say dirty, and he is always on the ground after several fouls. Serbia/Montenegro and Ivory Coast as well as the Netherlands didn't even go near him much, I guess because they were afraid of getting yellow cards. Mexican midfield are not as strong physically and as such could move closer on him and stop him from doing much... if they can't then it will be an easy match.

I think Portugal and Netherlands have prepared for this game from ages... it will be one of the best matches of the 1/8 finals.
