phenoms seem to be disappointing. a few guys on xs got threads about ocing their phenoms. 2.6ghz seems to be the average oc on these cpus.

most superpi1m runs i´ve seen are close or a little slower (clock to clock) to what we got going on here with our superpi racetrack. to me it seems as it would be a k8 with 4 cores, although it´s a new architecture.

I've just built a Phenom rig for my next door nieghour, and found pretty much the same as MadDias has said. I had a go at clocking it, before handing it to him at stock. Not impressed one little bit, as a cpu for clocking they are a waste of time and effort.

Pi times were rubbish as well Ed. In fact my old Opty 170 was faster.

  • 3 weeks later...

I finally got around to O/Cing my box after using it for the last 12 months at stock settings. After about 2 hours of messing around, I was able to hit 3192 MHz without failures using these settings:

14X CPU FSB

5X CPU n' NB Bus Ratio

228 CPU clk

1.475 CPU Voltage

2.0 DRAM Voltage

Pushing it to 229 CPU clk causes instability booting. SO, my question is: How high can I go with CPU Voltage settings? I see that 1.5v is the highest setting in white font.. the next setting [1.525] is shown in the RED font, which I presume is no-mans land? Or just a warning?

Nice clocks there Techtrancer. None of them will get you into the 3G club though i'm afraid. Have a read of the rules on the first page of this thread. Run the required apps and post them up in the 939 Overclocking Database. I wish my old 175 had done 3.3ghz, it would'nt even boot to windows past 3.25ghz, and that was under phase.

I have since sold ALL these CPUs, bar the X2 3800+...

I can't re-run these since these are all very old and from the original 939 competition thread

if you can't add these because of the requirements, oh well... this is what I got with my beloved DFI NF4 Ultra-D
