lilbear Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Negative... 91.47 drivers are the current official driver release from nVidia.com, they replaced the old 91.31 this last september 14th... go check at www.nvidia.com http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_91.47.html /edit Also on page 56 of the release notes the 7900 GTO is clearly mentioned as supported by these drivers: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/91.4...lease_notes.pdf Thanks! On page 86 it shows a ton of cards the drivers work with. And GTO is there. My mistake Sorry,
Sorrento Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Wait, 86???? I read it on 56... oy, now I am confused!!!! Its funny how nVidia release drivers every 90 days... and then we forget they already released new ones, its like forgetting to put gasoline on the car because it nearly doesn't use any

roulette6 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Just to be clear, I don't have to go through steps 1 and 2 to OC my card, right? Can I just do step 1 and get a good OC or should I also flash my card BIOS for best performance? I have a USB floppy drive. Does that boot into DOS? Paradox Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 You don't need to flash your video card unless there is something you want unlocked all the time like pipelines or something, or change the voltage if the card has voltage options. roulette6 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Does the 6800 GT have locked pipelines to make it like the ultra?
Clay Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 As far as I know. All 6800gt's and Ultra's all have the same number of pipelines.(16#) The GT's stock usually run @ about 350mhz core. And the Ultras 400mhz. Many Ultra's have 2# AUX power inputs moldex connectors and the GT's only 1#. If the GPU's run at higher voltages or not I myself really don't know but someone else around here will know. As far as I know flashing the bios onna' 6800gt to ultra will only increase the default clock speeds. But it may improve other things too. Voltages I'm not sure myself but it might. http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1633
CharmedLover84 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 All an Ultra essentially is is a GT that's stock OCed. I know this cuz I own one and I ran it at Ultra speeds (400/1100 I believe) for a long time without any voltage mods.

caebron Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 The link for the 7800GTX voltmod doesn't seem to work - or is it just me?
