Clint Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 @Clint: PLease continue on the good work that you have already did - tweak your ram However, please check my post #19, especially message to FZ1 about real mHZ as it is described in overclocking guide. Your ram is working @ 247.5 mhz: 10x297 = 2970 / 12 = 247.5. 12 is coming from 10x(10/9)=11.11>>12. You can also check my first post - I put an example. ALL other entries are calculated by using this formula. A picture says more than thousands of words..(and I'm just too lazy)
ooztuncer Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Well, CPU-Z reports that...I know it lands on 267MHz really but as we do screenshots for reference and everyone refers to those I think we better stay with them to avoid confusion. Well, according to me not to confuse people is to use one consistent system - could be a A64 screenshot, a picture from A64memfreq1.1, or a formula that defines the real ram mhz. In this thread I select to use later one - you might not agree and even you can post "emm,uh,mm but it's wrong" posts. But then, you need to explain what is wrong? Rather than a silence treatment... Even after that, I might still continue to compare rams using the formula that can be found in the very first post. The most important thing is to set the rules and being consistent in the evaluation...

The most important thing is to set the rules and being consistent in the evaluation... Ok, I now see what you mean....that formula is for effective memory speed... That is only adding more factors to the equation when chasing the modules highest stable OC...(hence my () marks around "DRAM Frequency Set" in my posted settings). but hey, it's your thread...if you want me to remove my entrie just say so.. Cr0w Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 My new 2GB G.Skill GHZ work fine with about real 273Mhz 3-4-3-8@2,57V. What is really making me confused is the bevaviour of this ram at higher Clocks: - I can boot with 282Mhz (1:1 HT Multi 11 = 3100Mhz) but i always gat errors in prime after 1-3 min, same with memtest in test #6 - I did change nearly everything possible, the result is still the same. 282Mhz is unstable... - I can use quite good timings with the HZ at 273Mhz, but almost the lossiest timings dont get me stability at >275Mhz  - I did change vdimm from 2,47V to 2,85V, result ist the same - I did try every possible tref, no change in result - I did lower all dram settings to crappy ., tried cpc 2T and bank interleave disabled -> no change in result - I did try 4 different bios-versions from 5.10-2 to 6.23 -1/3 and 704-2 tba, again no change in result. - it is not the limit of cpu or ht/htt. i can use 3,3ghz (1,62V) or 330mhz ht or 1100mhz htt rockstable There is almost NO change in everything, whether a i use 5.10-2 bios or 6.23-3 or vdimm 2,47 oder 2,87 or losse timings or fast ones: 273mhz is rockstable and anything from 275-285mhz is bootable but not prime/memtest stable. Where the . is the limiting factor?! Or is it just the the ram doesnt like more mhz, no matter which settings i use from tight to loose? Here is a screen, maybe u know a secret with this g.skill hz:

ooztuncer Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Yeah, thats him. I asked him to post some stable settings for 260+ for HZ - I am also happy to see him here - hope he comes to street more frequently. He needs to create a sig though @Clint: no problems at all mate, as I said earlier please continue to tweak your ram and share your settings with us. Just be consistent with the calculations done for other people. I asked thunda to change the topic of this thread, which is now "hz+any uccc"
CaptainComputer Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 OCZ PC4800 (rated for 600MHz @ 3-4-4-10-1T) I get a whopping *650MHz* at 3-4-4-10-2T in my LAN Party UT SLI-DR Expert Board. CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Core Speed: (8x325MHz)2600MHz I've only had the board/cpu one day. If I can do better I'll post here. G.S Technician Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 G.S Technician as XtremeSystems Forums G.Skill USA Tech?Welcome to DFI forums! yeah it is me! i will come here more do i need to have sig too???
blick Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Yes, this is the rule, you need a sig. As you can see, we have a lot of G.Skill user here, so we could use your expertise!
