Ghost2520 Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 I heard that if you use AS3 on your CPU it voids your warranty? Is that true? If it is, then I don't know anyone who has a warranty on their processor cause everyone uses the stuff. If you can't use AS3 then what are you supposed to use? Are you supposed to use a thermal pad and a CPU shim?
Trakfast11 Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 supposedly Ceramique shouldn't void your warranty. someone decided to see what AMD had to say about this but i haven't seen any official word on it. someone might want to check around. O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 Well I have a tube of AS3 which works great but Ive heard alot of people say the AS Ceramique is even better. As for the thermal pad and shims...they are useless.

Overclocker16 Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 Yes, AS3 does void AMD's warranty. But it isn't the same as ceramique so ceramique shouldn't void your warranty. But most companies that I know of (newegg, googlegear etc.) don't do testing to see so you can RMA it and they should give you your money back unless it was OC'd. syneze Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 If you put on a HSF that isn't stock you've already voided your warranty. They don't have to know that however.
