xguy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 it looks like in there next mobo (crossfire) the PCI-E are furthur apart and the chipset will be free from the video cards, AG are they gonna come up with SLI boards layed out the same way ? cause I will dump this one immediatly if they do, maybe with 2 16X PCI-E? seevip Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 So does the crossfire support the Nvidia SLI or is it only for ATI?
ReMoose Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 So if i decide to keep my X850XT PE that i have could i use that in a crossfire setup? Â Damn I need the money but......ATI Crossfire is tempting if I already have half of it.
PoppyMcShotgun Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 you don't have half of it... You would need to buy the board PLUS another video card... in addition to another CPU, because that Athlon XP in your signature wont go into the board... ReMoose Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Really......I was just kinda hoping my Athlon XP would fit into the 939 board..... Â How disappointing.(sarcasm) Â Let me rephrase what i wrote earlier. If i keep my 3700 San Diego, 1GB OCZ RAM and my x850 XT PE. Plus buy the appropriate motherboard. Then all i need to do i buy the crossfire ready graphics card? meaning that if the previous is correct then i will half 1/2 the video cards i need to complete a crossfire setup? Â Â Wow, i never thought asking a simple yes/no question would warrant such a deep and lengthy response.
PoppyMcShotgun Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I'm sorry none of us can read your mind. Just going off of what you have in your sig, because that's all we CAN do...
ReMoose Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Because my other rig is on hold....
red930 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 You would be best served if you just waited for the boards to get in our hands so we can tell you the facts about them. Until then it's just speculation and assumptions. Â There are a couple of other forums with lengthy threads about the new boards but no one has gotten a board for testing yet. red930 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 ...and without a physical sample in their hands and testing it for awhile, then it would really be quite difficult to tell you all what it's features/capabilities are now, wouldn't it? seevip Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 So are these supposed to be crossfire only? or it will support Nvidia SLI?
