I have been looking to get into building nitro r/c cars, but unfortunatly I do not have the money. I just started as a freshman in college, so there is all my money. Im trying to keep from working as much as possible to keep from interrupting my studies. my current hobbies are my computer and my car, but for the most part i have them in a way that i like them. few more things with the car would be nice, such as some paint in the interior and a body kit.

but yeah i would say a great hobbie would be getting into building r/c cars, that way your son would be able to play with it when you have finished, if you want him to after all the hard work you had just put into it...lol!! But i think that it would be a great thing for you and your son to get into, to maybe strenghten your relationship

  2. I have heard of godaddy, but not of 1and1.com

my mom (a real technical soccer mom) and some of her friends have a website for my the Grand Blanc High School soccer team, which is hosted on domaindirect.com.

She has said that it is nice and she has not encountered any problems with the site or the hosting. she uses frontpage to upload.

if you want you can check it out

  3. is it wireless or wired...

if its wireless check to see if your usb ports have crapped out

if its wired and you are using the onboard network port, put a card in to see if your onboard port died and if its a card, try a new card or if you have onboard plug it in to the onboard.

I had the problem of my first mobo, cant remember what brand it was but i remember it was a socket a board, both the onboard video and the onboard usb went out on me, and i had it for a little bit more than 3 years, and i didnt oc or anything so i think it just got old and the connections crapped out

  4. i dont know, thats a good question.

it would seem like for your 24/7 folding machine it would work smoother due to the fact that there isnt as much resources needed to run linux than windows needs

  5. I already run into that problem with cs:s with out even ocing, which confuses me. After playing the game for about an hour, the game will lock up with a looping sound. I went to steams website and they said that I should update my video and audio drivers, well my audio is integrated, but i found a newer driver for it and it slowed the process down, it would take about an hour and 15-20 min for it to lock up so i dont know what that is all about, but this is off topic.

I understand what all of you are saying with the stability testing and to answer a question up above, I am using speedfan to determine my temps. When I look at the graph, the first temperature is what I use as the load temp, because it is what is being displayed first, correct? Before you guys told me to take off the duct going to the cpu cooler and put the air blowing onto the cpu heatsing instead of off of it. Also to change the fan on the back of the case to a exaust fan, which i did, but would i get better temps if i but the duct back on the cpu cooler and have it connected to the fan on the side of my case, and have the side fan sucking fresh air in, and the cpu cooler sucking it directly onto the heatsink?

Also thank you for all of the information so far, and i think i am getting to understand this process a lot better than I did before.

  6. it would almost be cheaper to buy a new adapter for the computers than to buy a dang wire...which makes no sence to me...

also would there be a way to get something that will pick up the signal, and then have lets say 5 cords coming out of the device and plug into a computer to get the internet?

  7. I have a wireless network at my house that has an internet connection on it. I have 2 computers that need the internet, but only one wireless adapter, is there anyway that I could get them both connected to the internet at the same time with only 1 adapter. Like using a network cable going from one computer to the other?

  8. Ok i have managed to get it to oc to 2.42 GHz while being stable with a 49C boot temp and a 46C idle temp. I think that is pretty good with the stock cooler. The voltage is set at cpu default, and i used OCCT to tell if it was stable or not.

thank you all for all of the help and suggestions

  9. ok i started over and ran super pi afer every time that i push the bus speed up (5mhz at a time) and what i have been looking at is cpu load temp, idle temp, and the super pi 1 and 4 M tests. to tell if it is stable, what should i be looking for? everytime i run the super pi, so far everything has been either the same or a little bit faster times, also the temps are very close to eachother. earlier when i was giving temps, they were wrong, i forgot i was looking at my own probe that i had placed in the actual heatsink for the cpu, but now im using the temps from speed fan, any other suggestions?

so far i have pushed the bus speed up to 215 mhz, and been runing a idle temp of 48C and load of 53C, im up to 2.37 GHz so far. i have not removed the duct and redone the air setup that was suggested earlier, but i will be doing that soon.

    <---EDIT--->

ok just did the fan re arrangment, and it made a big differentce, now the load temp is 48C and the idle is around 43C. Thanks for the idea of taking the duct away. now time to keep pushing it...hope i can get it up there
