...An "Express Upgrade" program is available for providing free or low-cost upgrades for people who purchase computers with Windows XP between October 26, 2006 and March 15, 2007.[43] The precise costs vary between OEM manufacturers; Dell, for example, will charge $25 USD plus applicable taxes/fees to upgrade Windows XP Professional to Windows Vista Business or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to Windows Vista Home Premium, while upgrades from Windows XP Home to Windows Vista Home Basic will cost $45 USD plus $25USD plus applicable taxes/fees.
...
Further criticism of upgrade licenses was expressed by Ars Technica's Ken Fisher, who noted that the new requirement of having a prior operating system already installed was going to cause irritation for users who reinstall Windows on a regular basis.[47]

Please someone correct me if I am wrong...
Retail is the full version, can be installed on a freshly formatted HDD
Upgrade is a version that you can upgrade from XP to Vista, so you have to format, install XP, then upgrade to vista
Like I said, correct me if I am wrong, but thats what I have always thought it was

you didnt answer the question "is there any beeping?"...is there?
POST card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16815158065
Basically the post card is a card that you plug into an empty pci slot, does not always have to be in, that will display an error code number on the 2 digit led display that you can then look up in the booklet to find out what the error in the post is giving you, some motherboards have this built in...when i took my A+ class in HS we were required to plug one in and create an error on the computer that would give a code and see if we could find the problem with the card.
I dont have one but they can be very helpful.

did you put some thermal compound on your cpu?
check to see if your hsf is on correctly
try with only one stick
what size is your psu? it could be possible that you dont have enough power
havnt looked it up yet, but does your mobo indicate where it hangs up in post before it dies? do you have a post card? is there any beeps?

I know before we redid the layout of the site, there were stars that we had under our avatars, now they are blocks and also the folding members do not get these "stars" like we used to, is that going to be fixed or is it going to stay how it is now for good?
-
and you would set this up by installing f@h 2 times to diff directories and setting the priority under the task manager?
The only reason the rig is not setup and running right now is because it would be at my parents house and that thing is loud, and my parents dont want it running and keeping them away at night, they find it annnoying...so what im going to do is set it up in the garage of my parents house and use the wireless networking to keep it connected and use a crt (so i dont take the chance of an lcd monitor freezing in a cold michigan garage)
-
I have a setup sitting at home that the next time I go home I will set back up for 24/7 folding but it is a dual processor rig...
what I was wondering is if it is possible to have both cpus working on the same WU and if it is possible would that be better than having each cpu doing its own wu?

I just ordered the Thermalright XP-90C cooler
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835109122
and the Silverstone RL-FM92 92mm case fan
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835220003
The Thermalright XP-90C is made out of all copper and the fan has max of 3800 RPMs and 80.92 CFM...
2 questions,
1) Which way should the fan be placed, blowing on or blowing off the HS?
2) What do you think the temp difference should be? currently I am getting 61C full load (using OCCT or ORTHOS)

http://xoxide.com/thermalright-xp-90c-cpu-cooler.html
Im going to get the XP-90C...Im going to as you may like to say spend a little extra for the copper...the only question that I do have is do I need to get any retention Brackets? The xoxide link has a AMD socket AM2 or a LGA775 retention brackets...I have a MSI Neo2 plat. (socket 939) so do I need to get a retention bracket?

I believe that if you buy an OEM version of windows you are just going to recieve a cd and a cd key; if you buy the retail version, you will get the fancy fold out box with the cd key printed on it, a booklet showing you why you need to upgrade, all that crap.
