The Smith Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) Hey guys and gals, The next Forum Wars, hosted by TRP, is quickly approaching! The rules have already been published, so I thought I would start recruiting my players. Don't know what Forum Wars is? It's an inter-forum overclocking competition. Each forum forms a team of 18 players, according to a predefined set of rules. There are five benchmarks to run. Also, there are lucky draw prizes for the participants that will be announced later. For the old timers, one thing I can tell you is that the team limitations changed quite a bit. There are no more cooling restrictions in any of the teams. Everyone can check the rules here. The official website has not been updated yet since we're a bit early. So, who wants to be part of the OCC team? Here are the teams: The Froot Loops team: cjloki #2 CAINuKe Flibo The Cookie Nips team: Zertz yuridude cjloki #1 The Babes of OCC team: overclocking101 tacohunter52 Water_Hazard The E-peen team: gotdamojo06 wildman2 usaweapon777 Please don't take the team names seriously; They are meant to be a joke! Frank will be participating again, but most importantly, Bosco will also join the fun!! Edited November 19, 2009 by The Smith
RJR Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Quick and maybe stupid question for you, Class F states Quad (4 thread), will an i7 860 with HTing turned off work or probably not? Don't think I would be competitive in the C class with only a 860/GTX275 so just curious.
Zertz Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 An i7 with HT turned off should be fine. All screenshots also include CPU-Z so they will be able to see HT was disabled and only 4 threads were being used. Don't forget not everyone signs up with cutting edge hardware either!
