AMD/ATI Rigs

I am also not a big fan of eyefinity. I always feel like I am in jail looking through bars. I guess for some that is natural but not me :P

Seriously I did see eyefinity used with projectors which means no bevel in the way and man was it sweet.

Found some inspiration for a comeback ...

Increase your emersion and enjoy gaming the way it is meant to be played through bars, since so many people pirate their games :snap:

Eyefinity, for those that long for the good old days when they where in jail :woot:

So if you break the bevls off your monitors to use eyefinity is that called a jailbreak?

Sorry I cannot resist. I know a lot of people out ther like this and more power to them. Of course to be fair I guess I should pick on the other side...

In the news today nvidia showed their latest 3D invention, a spokesman said we decided that the old school approach was best:

Shortly after Fischer Price announced they where suing nVidia for it's 3D technology becuase it looks just like the effect we created years ago.

I dont think you will find many AMD/ATI rigs, because people learn from their mistakes :snap::P

I did, that's why I bought AMD/ATI. I do the same things you do, and while my dad didn't bankroll it so I can have super 1337 SLi or whatever, I still play battlefield on Ultra just like everyone else. So who's making the mistakes now? lol

Not on 8xAA and 16xAF you cant :P

the game is keeping me from 8xAA, but with 4x and 16x the game is just beautiful. I doubt I would even notice the difference. My real limitation for now is my monitor :(

Next year I am going to go crossfire with the 6970. Should be complete overkill for everything I do (I mostly play CS:S lol)

Think of it this way. If while playing BF3, I disconnect the two side monitors, I am left with exactly what you have as a single 1080P setup. The same bezels are there anyway. Just like a regular single monitor setup...or in your case....a television set, just without the immersive benefit of another 100-120 degrees of viewing.

As for 'having to move your head'...if moving your head a few degrees is that bothersome...I guess I can't help you there.:P

But hey, if the mood strikes me. I can always shut off 2/3's of my monitors and have...your setup.

Now then,

I thought I would throw in the last few years of my Quad OCD

2008 DFI-MRS2/4 x 4850

This one started basically as a bet to build a sub $1000 rig that would play Crysis @ Very high settings

This started out as Tri-fire, and added a 4th 5850 via a passive PCIE 'Pass-thru'

Obviously you wouldn't have thre 32 inch TVs for Eyefinity - because thats what I would have to have and my neck would hurt like ....
