file compression tool?

I need a free file compression tool. It seems winzip wants me to pay for software I will not probably use again for a while .

7zip is the best. Its free and open source. http://www.7-zip.org/

Winrar all the way. its shareware, so you are supose to buy it at some point. No cdkey to enter so its only up to you and I like it much better than 7zip

Personally I like PeaZip, which is also free and open source.

Here are your options for the context menu. There are effectively repeated for the "Send To" menu.

Typically I just use "Add to Archive" though as the window that gives you allows you to do whatever you want: select the compression format, amount, number of volumes, etc. From PeaZip's site:
