warl0rd Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 (edited) What is a good CPU temp? ASUS Probe is showing around 80 degrees Farenheit. Is that good? Edited August 10, 2003 by warl0rd
O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 Yep that is a good temp. 80oF is somewhere in the lower 30oC (I forgot the formula to convert Farenheight to Celsius and vice versa) anyone know?

warl0rd Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 So what would be a bad temp?
savethedodobird Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 To convert deg F minus 32 devided by 1.8 =deg C or deg C multiplied by 1.8 plus 32 = deg f. Wow. that useless first chapter in my chemistry and physics books accualy paid off. Your cpu is at 26.6667 degrees C
General912 Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 Bad temps are anywhere between 130-200. Any higher your dead.
[R]BENDER Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 Hey There A Bad Cpu Temp would be 50 degrees C and up or 122 degrees F and Up (in my opion [i am runnning a Amd Athlon Xp 2220+]) For the newer Cpu's I am not sure. By the way what Cpu are you using?
robbie Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 Are you reading CPU temps @ 80 degrees?!?!? That sounds more like MOBO temps too me. Unless you got a hella good water system. Rob
kobalt Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 Off topics but here's a nice little converter currency, temps, lenth, weight ect. always good to have handy http://www.softpile.com/Business/Applicati...ad_01384_1.html
steve adams Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 I tried reapplying my antec silver compound and seating my heatsink again, it slipped abit but I think it worked.
pcburner Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 That's an awesome Temp reading. But for more consistant temps refer to your bios as it will be more accurate there. As far as a bad temp, it all depends on your chip and what voltages your running, your air cooling. For reference I was running an AMD T-Bird 1400 and it ran about 120 farenheit. Which is hot but not for that chip as it is a hot running chip anyway. For best reference go manufactures web site and do some digging around there. If you don't find anything there ask customer support. Good Luck.

Rob I am showing 78o F today. My CPU is an Athalon XP 1800. I have a 120 mm Chimney fan, a 120 mm Intake, 2 X 90 mm Exaust fans, and a Volcano 9. No OC yet... My mobo is at 82o F.
