cchalogamer Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I've already mentioned most of this in my post about my 750 Ti, but for long term I'm going to move talk about the Coolant leak and Corsair service over here. If you want to read about how I found out about the leak go here First off I do NOT like putting in a support ticket and not hearing anything back until the 4th day from a company like Corsair, so far though that's my only negative. Now as for my current up to date situation: I have a leaking H100i cooler, One working GTX 770 that DID get wet but I cleaned and let dry and one GTX 770 that will work in windows but gives random driver crashes and complete system lock ups at times even after cleaning and letting it dry. Corsair HAS finally contacted me and here's the copy paste from another form where I posted this (and where another member with a Corsair contact sent my info to them that way too) I've got an update for everyone. Quote:Created By: Henry TS (4/24/2014 11:44 AM)Please attach a copy of the original invoice to this ticket for warranty purposes. Once verified, we will be able to send you a replacement. We apologize that the unit has leaked. If it did not damage your GPU, we will proceed with replacing this unit. If it did, we will need to proceed with a damage claim procedure. Even though that says 11:44 AM...it didn't show the message to me until sometime after 3PM in the same timezone, but OK, I uploaded my newegg invoice a short while ago along with an update for them that one GPU seems fine and the other has issues. Also a question about the standing of my eVGA warranty on the working card as it got wet too.The reply I got back VERY quickly this time Quote:Created By: Henry TS (4/24/2014 5:01 PM)Hello Christopher,I am not familiar with EVGA's policy but i would assume if any water mark is present, the warranty will be voided. I would suggest taking care of it now.I will forward this ticket to our damage claim specialist. Looks like this is finally going somewhere I'm guessing there's a good chance that I'll be getting both cards replaced based on that wording and if so that's some crazy good customer service. We will see how it all works out and I'll keep this updated. Well now it's time to sit back and wait for the next reply
ir_cow Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I never thought about who pays for damages when it leaks. Most of the time no one wants to deal with it and pawn it off saying the other company needs to replace it. hopefully corsair does the right things. cchalogamer Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I've read a mixture across the intertubes, but for MOST water cooling setups I've heard about them going above and beyond and it looks like we're heading that way. If so the first thing I'm gonna do when I get it all sorted out is buy another H100i for the secondary main rig
Celcius Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) Hopefully they can take care of your videocard loss/damage as well. I've heard of them doing it before in similar situations. How old was your h100i? Edited April 25, 2014 by Celcius
cchalogamer Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 How old was your h100i? I bought it 12/13/
VaporX Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Okay to be honest I am now scared to use a Corsair CLC. This is the 6th instance I have heard of a Corsair unit leaking. I have one of the early CoolIt Eco that has never had an issue as well as a number of Thermaltake Water 2.0.
KillaCam Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I've had my h50 since release in like 2009/2010. No issues yet and still keeps it cool. Although now that I post this I'm sure I'll come home to a busted pump or something.
SpikeSoprano Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 It seems like the ones made in the last year or so have more leaking problems, the older ones not so much.
cchalogamer Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I've got a nice long form to fill out and considering it's late Friday I guess the stuff will get shipped to them Monday and go from there. As for the leaking in general well, SO FAR they are handling it well and even if you do a custom loop and do it all correctly things can go wrong so oh well. A buddy of mine had a CLC with a dead pump that I never asked him how the warranty claim worked out...I'll have to ask him Saturday when we meet up. cirro Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 cchalogamer - Man you filled me with worries now, considering I leave my pc on usually 24-7 365. hornycow - im surprised they are working with him without a fight. im sure if it was anything but an already completely closed loop they would try to pawn it off somewhere else spikesoprano - that's how mass producing parts goes. original design is good, after years of producing the "lets cut money and make the same item" idea usualy starts popping up, pooping on it for everyone
cchalogamer Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Well, as for an update, I sent back the form over the weekend as it was rather long and detailed (not that I think that's at all a bad thing) and now I'm just waiting on a reply. They're closed again for the day so maybe tomorrow...
cchalogamer Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Just another update. As of Friday I still hadn't heard anything back from Corsair, I sent another ticket update from my side asking about the 24-48 hour turn around listed in the email with the claim form and finally today got this back: Created By: Jacob TS (5/5/2014 8:58 AM)Hello. I'm very sorry for the delay. You will be getting a label to send back your parts today or tomorrow at the latest. I have also been contacted by a Corsair rep at another site asking for my ticket number so we will see if that helps. Getting real tired of gaming on a 750 Ti while waiting to ship this stuff off.
