d6bmg Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Too bad for the high price and uneven backlighting, at first glance it looked likely to be a winner. Their back-lighting technology is noobish IMO. May be they will learn the good thing(s) as the time goes on.
Black64 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 The only reason I wouldn't buy one of these is if someone asked me what brand of keyboard I had I couldn't pronounce the name. (nah, just kidding)
wevsspot Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Durandal = fail Gotta wonder about the marketing genius of whomever decided to bring a fairly average product to the NA market at a price point that would make most people cringe. You get the price point premium when you've established your cred. Here is the keyboard I want on my desk; http://www.razerzone.com/minisite/blackwidow

Though for the life of me, why doesn't Razer show what kind of switches are in their BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition? I had to go to a review to see that it's a Cherry MX Brown: http://www.bjorn3d.com/articles/Razer_BlackWidow_Ultimate_Stealth_Edition/2137.html
Deathmineral Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 At that price range, you can a nice Deck keyboard, it's like they didn't even try to look into competition before making their move. Personally, I've been thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard for a while now but I'm just afraid of dropping $100+ on something I just don't know if I will like or not. Some better than others. You can find some as cheap as $70 if you don't want all that bling like backlighting and macros.

Stonerboy779 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Hey blue how many of the different mech key types have you tried and which would you say comes closesest to the feel of your lycosa. Waco Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Hey blue how many of the different mech key types have you tried and which would you say comes closesest to the feel of your lycosa. Currently considering a ducky shine with cherry reds The Lycosa is a membrane keyboard so it's a completely different animal. You'd have to try out a few mechanicals to see if you like them - I prefer the MX Brown switches but I avoid mechanical keyboards in general because I type waaaay too loudly.
