  1. what kind of ram ya have?.. brand and speed (example: pc3200 or pc3500) ?
  2. try this... that board shouldnt have a prob reaching a 217 fsb.. first off all is that 2600+ with a locked multi? if youre trying 217x11 @ 2.38 - tough to achieve on air cooling. if you can change the multi, try lowering it to 9 or 10 with the 217 fsb. also it is recommended that you run your fsb / mem async, so try to adjust you ratio to 100%(a7n8x bios)
  3. thanks alot, that's it.. seems as though my friend never installed the mobo drivers.. i did as eva said and problem solved.. i was able to set 8x agp and enabled the fastwrites..
  4. Specs- P43.0C MSI 865PE Neo2 Saphire 9800Pro 128 Western Dig 74Gig Raptorsx2 Raid0 Corsair twin CMX512 pc3700 Hi, I can't enable the 8x agp or the fastwrites in the smartgart utility. For some reason after i reboot it defaults back to off on both settings. Is anyone familiar with this problem. Checked Bios setting but nothing there to configure agp or fastwrites.

    Cat 4.3's

i was over my buddies yesterday while he was away.. foolin around with his pc (that i put together) i noticed that he still had cat4.1 drivers for his 9600xt.. i was bored so i decided to update the driver set to the new cat4.3's.. but before that i wanted to see the difference in 3dmk03 scores between the two drivers.. so on my first run (no oc'n) i scored 3785.. downloaded and installed cat4.3.. reboot and then ran 3d.. to my shock i scored somewhere in the 2500's.. WHAT!!.. that sucked.. i got a minimal decrease(10-15 the most) myself with my 9800pro.. but 1200 points.. something wrong.. first thing i did was shutdown.. started up and ran again and to my relief it was back to 3762.. again a small decrease... you might have done it already but reboot and run it again... just sounded like the same situation i was in.. * my fault.. missed the part about BFV.. maybe a fresh install of windows with new drivers would be best... its late
  6. 4x/8x aa/af : 32.375263 / 72.484558 / 156.327896 fps -- Score = 72.583603
  7. my stock timings were 2-2-2-5 at 333Mhz. in order for me to hit 400fsb, i had to loosen to 2-3-3-6. seen the posts that that state optimum precharge is 10 or 11. i put it to test on my rig with sisandra.. i did not see any change or increase in mem latency scores at all.. will another bench show improvement?..
  8. $2.26 per gallon/super(selfserve) @ mobile in staten island ny..
  9. new scores with cat4.7 drivers
  10. same question here.. should us non-XT owners need to upgrade(no overdrive). also i don't have any issues now with 3.10... if it aint broke, don't fix it.. -150~300 pts in 3dmk03.. yuck!!
  11. try this... you say that your mobo is a rev 1.04... check to see if there is a jumper on mobo for cpu_fsb.. i think your stock jumper setting is 266/333.. switch the jumper to enable support for 200fsb.. i just installed same mobo for friend except that it was a rev2.0 so it came stock 266/333/400..
  12. ah ha.. check this out my friends... today i just finished putting together a friends new system together. it was time to upgrade his ol' dell pIII 933mhz/512mb pc133/gf3 ti200 64mb.. mostly a gaming pc for americas army 2.0a and bf1942.. he had a budget of around 500$(a guess an engagement ring will do that.. i dunno)so i went to newegg and came up with something that he should be happy with and also perform.. he is keeping his 19' dell crt and key/opti mouse. went to newegg and here's what i came up with: 90.00 - asus a7n8x 49.00 - xp1800 t-bred oem (i gave him my stock hs/fan from my xp2400) 72.00 - wd 80g 8mg 54.00 - allied case w/ 350w ps 107.00 - 2x256 kingstom hyper-x pc2700 169.00 - sapphire ati radeon 9600xt $545 shipped to nyc and it arrived 1/9 and i put together today 1/10 the point of my short novel here is that i heard that the new athlons/bartons are coming with locked multi's, but you can +- fsb.. this particular chip was a 0344.. locked.. ok np.. well upon first boot i went into bios and did the proper adjustments for user defined settings.. and low and behold i was able to change the multi!!! wow was the nforce2 ultra chip set that can unlock this.. cool.. so i was attempting to try to sync fsb with ram and try 166*10 at first.. reboot.. before detecting ide'z this message i never saw before comes up and says that i cannot change the speed settings,(something along those lines)stopped responding.. reboot.. samething until i changed it to 133*11.5.. 11.5 being the stock multi. i was able to install xppro and then changed the fsb to 166.. looks like multi's are locked boys and girls... some of us have classics on our hands.. cherish them.. i'm out to sleep '05 - athlon64 3200+ baby
