I have a 19" CRT and an 18" Microtek LCD, the LCD I got from Walmart for $75 because no one wanted it because it didnt have a DVI connector and it just kept dropping in price from like $350 --->$75 So it was a bargin. But I use my CRT for gaming because the LCD has a poor response time of 30ms, Its not too noticeable even playing BF2 on it as I did for a few months before I got my Card with Dual connectors but when I tried BF2 on the CRT I was blown away because of the smoothness again so now the LCD is my Second Display.

I Guess when your buying LCD the Response time should be your big concern but from the first post, Buying a Monitor for $999 is just crazy Mad. Complete and utter overkill IMPO

A 24" inch CRT doesnt leave much room for your keyboard and mouse on any desk lol

If I had my choice of monitors though I would choose something like

or this

I like widescreen and these both have a very good response time of 5ms and are a nice price also

How does the Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW perform while playing movies? I have seen reviews that the colors can be dull and the images fuzzy. Is there any merrit to these claims? Any ghosting or chop in video games? I don't want to shell out $700+ on a monitor that will under perform compared to my 5 year old NEC CRT.

Well, I was looking for a pc monitor/tv and found this one for $1,400 inc. shipping: https://www.westinghousedigital.com/pc-56-7...0p-monitor.aspx

It's a 37" westinghouse 1080P pc monitor with 8ms response time and 6 HD inputs. It really seems a future proof tv/pc monitor.

Recommended setting for pc use is 1920x1080 and supports 1280x1024, 1280x768, 1280x720, and 1024x768 (all @60hz).

I always liked hybrid (industry/consumer mix) products like panny 42" plasmas (xxxUK models). This lcd works everywhere in the world: 100-240v - 50/60 hz. You just need a cable box or some type of tuner box to convert your monitor into a great tv...

Just my $0.02...

when i get my 19" lcd, it will be the first lcd i have ever owned.

i've always avoided them because i like to play games...but now there's 4ms and 8ms 19" for under $400 so i going to take the plunge i think one day

I know of a 16x12 5ms 20.1" for under $400.
