Angry_Games Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 maybe your board is a dud, i honestly don't know i've seen plenty of differences between all kinds of hardware that was the same (ie i bet my 3200XL Corsair is slightly different than yours)

learners permit Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Mostly depends upon how much memory you intend to use with it. The mobiles memory controllers really struggle with 2X1 gigs but w/1 gig you should see something around 2600mhz or more with adequate power and cooling. A psu with 26 amps or more on the 12 v rail and a bolt down cooling solution are highly recommended.
ooeric Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 its not a mobile i took the ihs off oh ya. i was gonna ask about that too what kinda HSF uses a bolt down, that has pretty good performance like a lowbie xp90 i took off the IHS then remember i needed to research for one lol
learners permit Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Im not sure since water is my sloution I did no research into air cooling. A forum member here named cmay119 is using an air cooling solution on his Newark perhaps you could pm him as I'm sure he would be of more help than I. CPDMF Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 You can use a XP-90 or 120 as well. It only requires sanding down the retaing bracket the thickness of the IHS where it contacts the CPU. A bolt down that works well is the 120mm Zalman unit.

learners permit Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Thnx AG but I'm gonna go ahead with the NF4-4X and an X1800XT when I can so I'll find out soon enough. The psu upgrade was the first step toward this upgrade.
