Vista goes gold oline!

$400 for an operating system is absolutely ridiculous. What makes it worse is that Vista doesn't offer anything compelling enough to justify that cost. If they had incorporated WinFS and all the other features originally slated to be part of Vista, then 300-something might make sense. But when you're just offering a face lift of your current product and a handful of other semi-useful features, that $400 price tag seems to be extortion.

 

No thanks Microsoft, I'll be sticking with XP. Oh, and good job at combating piracy. I'm sure nobody will get illegal copies now with the "amazing" price you've set for your new operating system <_<

 

Stuff like this is what makes me want to throw out all the Windows boxes in my house and replace them with Macs. At least you get your money's worth with Apple....
