bigred Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 okay, how exactly do you get an 64 bit cpu onto a K7 board? the two are mutually exclusive. can't be both at anyrate, biostar would not be a good option in my book

You're first choices for a motherboard should always start with: DFI, MSI, or Gigabyte.
Nerm Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Biostar is a decent budget board but that is it. I would not recommend it any rig that is intended for more than just email and surfing the web.

InvaderTrax Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I've got a Biostar board and it's actually ok. The voltage isn't terribly consistant, but I'm still perfectly stable at 2.5GHz with 1.725V

Man. I just put together a PC for a friend of mine for $690 that scores 5558 in 3DMark05 which is powered by an X800GTO and a 3200+ Venice on a DFI mobo. Tell your friend to return it if possible.
