Recommended Posts

hey all,

so i may be a little behind the times here but it doesn't seem that the new vid cards are being released on agp, is agp dead? or are agp cards just delayed out of the gates?

technically yes, virtually no.

:withstupid:

It's not dead yet, but it seems no new video cards will have agp versions. I know nvidia pretty much said they're sticking with pci-e...I'm not sure what ati's stance is.

its dead but its alive to those who are willing to spend like $300 on a 3 year old top of the line card when you can get a 7800gt for around that price.

agp 8x/4x Pro?

those are what macs are using and voltage wise would instantly kill a regular agp8/4x card if you happen to jam the card in to the slot which is diff from the regular agp slot.
