HR-rash1k Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 hello my name is Rashik and i play for the HR (#1 CS 1,1 1,6 in Ukraine as for 2002,2003) our clan has won $25,000 in the beginning of june so i decided why not just go for it and assemble the most powerful non-overclocked (yet!) computer i could put together. at the end all the parts took almost one month to ship and finally my last part, 7800gtx came on july4:). as soon as the drivers were installed i ran 3dmark 03, minutes later very satisfied with the score of 24133. the configuration is in the signature half-life 2 runs at an average of 125 fps with everything maximized, doom 3 even prettier: i can finally put it on ultra high detail since i have over 500mb of video memory that is required for it: 160fps average im not bragging or anything i just think this information would be useful or just interesting to the forum members. this is not an ad or anything i will be just a regular forum member thx for taking time HR-Rash1k

HR-rash1k Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 i especially did not choose athlon because of their warranty issues plus for me as not very experienced user i had all the chances to break fx-57 crystal. so it will be intel for me

napmaster383 Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Wow, $7,000 for that system. No offense, I could build a better system than that and then some for less. I would use the extra cash left over to by myself a nice 24" LCD Monitor.
asus Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 with that money.. i would have bought a dule g5 power mac, with 4gb of ram, and then i would have used the rest and built a pc, and used the mac as a powerful web/game server..

I would've gotten the soundblaster audigy 4 instead paired with a nice 7.1 surround sound system. Those additional items do cost some money, but I still think I could manage to build a system for less than $7,000.
