bigred Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 as many of you know, I HATE luxury Suv's and trucks. I couldn't wait to get rid of my wife's navigator. you also know I hate people that do things like put 20" gold spoked rims on trucks, lower them, put silly pointless exhaust on them, clear headlights and so on. and of course I dislike GMC's too. this new project was born out of me ranting about just such a thing the cadilac escelade ext. my brother (who is a very disturbed young man) actually came up with what to do, it's up to me to do the how part of it. start with an 05 escelade EXT pickup (caddy version of the avalanche), strip the suspension, drive shaft all the way to the transmission. new transfer case, new drive shaft, new 1 ton solid axles (it's 4 wheel IS), beef up the engine ( a first since I've not worked on a new GMC motor in years, and never one of the new vortecs), 9" of lift, 40" or larger tires with 17" black AR wheels, bull bar (not some seafood chrome and plastic fake brush guard), open headers for the exhaust... and the finishing touch... a flat almost primer like woodland camo paint job. bigred Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 (edited) going to get the truck tomorrow afternoon. drive the poor salesmen NUTS for an hour or two. then move up the chain of command to the sales manager (my parents neighbor/ former baseball coach / father-in-law to my wife's sister / the guy that's always annoyed that I won't drive a GM). write check for truck, drive directly to the junk yard, then on to autozone, and finally to the garage to begin cutting. but first 2 more broncos need to go upto the barn and out of the way so I can actually PARK another truck in the back yard. 3 broncos, the 2 big fords, the durango and a trailer too much crap. shoot, forgot to mention the need for a gun rack, the bull horns on the hood, and 2 coon hounds to finsih off the image Edited July 10, 2005 by bigred
