Overclockersdream Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Download Everest and see if that also shows 64k, just to rule out some sort of incompatibility with CPU-z 460265 Apparently Everest seems to tell me the same thing 64k L2. Guest Raven65 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Apparently Everest seems to tell me the same thing 64k L2. 460338 try Sandra It seems to be pretty good.SiSandra
BabyBalrog Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Well this is pretty strange, I'm sure your CPU has the amount of cache it is suppose to otherwise you would be screeming your head off abotu how slow it is. Probably CPU-Z and Everest are pulling their CPU data from teh same source, which is hardwired into the CPU, and I guess thats probably erred. If sandra does the same thing for its ID try running it's cache benchmark and see what it shows
Overclockersdream Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 (edited) ok samething from sandra, I ran the Cache Benchmark, I got owned by my own type of Processor. Edited April 12, 2005 by Overclockersdream
BabyBalrog Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 How about the one that looks like this
asus Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 well.. if all this shows up in multipal programs.. then i would suggest that you call AMD and ask them wtf is wrong with your CPU. They know the arcitecture better then anyone, and will be able to tell you if there was a bad batch or not. Good luck

BabyBalrog Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 GIVE AMD A CALL, that chips is seriously messed up, she's not even pushing 256 Kb out on cache, hope you can RMA it or something
Overclockersdream Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Well I emailed tech support, all they said was to send the the axda number and they will get back to me. i think i might have been ripped off, could someone have sold me a duron?? and it just clocks fine at 2.2 ghz by coincedence? BloodySunday Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Check your BIOS maybe use the BIOS jumper and reset it. I know there are options in the BIOS to limit Cache use and so on.
markiemrboo Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Stangest thing I have ever seen. Would love to know how something like that happened! I also doubt it's a Duron, as it's registering properly as a Barton core and everything by the looks of it. Chip must be faulty though. Where'd you get it from? See if the place of purchase will let you return it and get a replacement, otherwise try and RMA it to AMD.
