kendellrt Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 All of the DFI NF4 board have 2 16X PCI-E slots. They are the only makers that do this, but it limits their production costs. Thanks 415863 Cool.
kanbeki Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Then why would he need to mod it to a sli board? pick up a few fps?
lilkev715 Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Then why would he need to mod it to a sli board? pick up a few fps? 415930 There is no performance difference between the two. If I can get a SLI bridge off of ebay in the future, I basically got a cheap SLI mobo in the end.
trace Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 How would that work if you don't have 2 slots for the video cards? 415841 the non-sli has 2 slots also

DECwakeboarder Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 What would be the need for it? The board isn't designed to run SLI to start with. sorry but that made me laugh.
kendellrt Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 So where did you get the 2nd chipset?
lilkev715 Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 The Ultra-D mobo from DFI does not come with a SLI bridge because it is not marketed as a SLI mobo. As far as I know of this mod only works on the nForce4 Ultra mobo from DFI and not other Ultra chipsets. However future boards/chipsets will most likely have a countermeasure to prevent this mod. So where did you get the 2nd chipset? Huh? If you are referring to the first picture it is simply a side-by-side comparison.

Newegg has themselves covered by stating below the pictures that revisions of the products can change, blah blah blah. DXG is basically the ability to use two graphics cards to drive up to 4 monitors.
