lilkev715 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 (edited) As many of you know, Anandtech did a little article of modding a nForce4 Ultra chipset into a SLI chipset. After reading this I attempted the mod myself and it was successful. My chip stepping is 0452A3 if you can't tell by the pictures. Nuclear Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I'm guessing from the pictures...that its a Neo4 Ultra you used? Good job on getting it working, now get some benches or scores up
lilkev715 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I have the DFI nForce4 Ultra mobo. Too bad DFI didn't include a SLI bridge with their Ultra mobos. Benches will come eventually.

FunkyMonkey Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 what's the difference between nf4 boards and nf4 sli boards? i'm guessing 50 bucks? well that's probably the best cost:performance ratio mod ever
drewkivela Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 wow, this is cool for people who bought their mobo too early. cant wait to see some numbers -drew
Ostate21 Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 So how do you know that it took effect? Does it show up in the bios or something? If this all works out I know what my next Mobo is going to be! B)
Nuclear Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Just a tip to guys who want to do this: A little birdie informed me that this mod might not work the newer on DFI Ultra-DR or Ultra-D boards. DFI was forced to makes changes, which should render it impossible to mod now. You may can still get a board that made it out before the change, but all boards being made now won't work. kendellrt Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 How would that work if you don't have 2 slots for the video cards?
Nuclear Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 All of the DFI NF4 board have 2 16X PCI-E slots. They are the only makers that do this, but it limits their production costs. Thanks
