xacid Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 I have both, i wanna OC somewhat decently. Which one would be more worth OCing? 1st post ftw!
Coolzero101 Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 It depends what kind of system you have, you can probably get more out of that 3200 by upping the FSB if your other parts can handle it (ram mobo psu). Otherwise the 2800+ might be the way to go.
Noxious4 Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 (ram mobo psu). why do you say PSU?
zigen Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 psu is a very crucial part of OC'ing, since you up the vcore when oc'ing, the psu needs to get more juice to the cpu and other parts, if you have a crap psu, ur oc will fail most likely. the psu needs to have strong rails for a stable oc

Noxious4 Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 (edited) when you are upping you FSB. but make sure you din't set it to high. even up .2 can fry you cpu. 408534[/snapback] i can up my fsb from 133 to 148 and my computer runs very stable at stock voltage. I did notice when i go to 152, my wireless card stops working. Edited January 31, 2005 by Noxious4
Nuclear Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Did you remember to lock your AGP/PCI bus? It sounds like you didn't, and that would cause the wireless troubles. Make sure to lock it whenever you are OC'ing, as it will save alot of headaches down the road.
