pi-dickens_project Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 There will always be something that ppl can get to crack any activation that might be required. I personally dont think it will affect the industry too much at all. Only people having internet trouble will get frustrated and take the game back or not buy it at all. That must be a small # tho. ayampirupiru Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 It good to stop piracy but why choose the bill gates way....sure there will be another method of doing this. Its very sickening when you reinstall the game...thus i vote not vote for this vot ing ..
Calyco Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Well reality, this sounds dumb but I know some gamers who have a kickass machine but no internet. what the heck are they to do call all the time?

Silverfox Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 fact is, if the companies can save money, then they'll do it. sooner or later, yes, ways and means will be found to get around it, but then there is a lot of piracy around the world. Â what will happen when people dont have a net connection? heavens knows. when i'm not at uni, i have a net connection for only a few hours a day - when i buy new games, i will be stuffed. Â i expect more safedisc/starforce protection....lol....i use "no-cd" cracks when i cant be arsed to put the right cd in the machine, but then im sure plenty of other people do too. starforce works well, and to my knowledge, i still have to put the original disc in for some games! argh! Â people wont boycott games because of protection. did they boycott M$ because of WPA? hardly. the ones that left didnt impact the market much. fire_storm Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 The companies say its for privacy and other things like that. Its just a way to make more money and make people buy more copies of the game. Games that were made 5-6 years ago can be copied but not games today.
NCC10281982B Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I think it will hert. As a power user, activation of any kind annoys me, just imaginehow the rest of the world will feel. And wjat if you don't have a convent internet connection?
