bigred Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 designed? no. marketed? yeah you could say that. it's listed as a "workstation" chip. but it's still KING of the hill till the fx-55 hits the streets in all apps except for video encoding (xeon still rules there, and more than likely WILL for the forseeable future) and who says the P4 EE's are the same price? the EE's are still 10-15% MORE expensive than the Fx chips. Places selling them at the same price are off thier rockers... the EE has NO margin if you sell it at the same price as the FX.
