viking Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 What type of filters us the best for cmputer fans? Does anybody can give me a hint?
InvaderTrax Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Well, the cheapest thing you can do is buy a big central A/C filter and cut it up. Those are like $10 and will make maybe 30 filters. 30 computer filters would cost about $100 or so
Newport Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 I know that some people just use some pantiehose but i believe you can find the real deal on www.frozencpu.com Also try www.newegg.com if you live in the US of A. [R]BENDER Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 (edited) Hey Right now I am using Anodized fan filters from frozencpu. They are nice are really keep dust out. But instaling them in.... like a chieftech case takes time. I ended up drill some stuff Also frozencpu has UV reactive filters, so you might want to check those out. Darn you guys type fast sry for repeating Edited July 12, 2004 by [R]BENDER

FastSS Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 how dirty is the environment that you need filters? I havent had a problem with dust in my case, I have a can of air from like 2 years ago still.
k1e1v1i1n Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 i took all mine off cause it was slowing the air too much
tazwegion Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Generally most people would concede that air filters actually reduce air intake... so many choose not to have one @ all Having said that, computer cases seem to collect huge amounts of airborne debri... so to prevent this, look for a 'filter' that doesn't impede airflow too drastically... I guess one of these would do the job as good as any, or obtain some low density foam of appropriate thickness & D.I.Y. (you should be able to breathe freely though you chosen medium ) Keep in mind though, you'll still have to unclog/clean these filters periodically EDIT: Geez you guys post/reply fast
airman Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 i don't use filters. occasionaly i'll get a dust-bunny in my case and i just pick it out, and i just wipe the bottom with a damp sponge, and it's back to shiny!
Byron Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 do what I do, and never clean it out until you find a dead ant inside your case!
