BeatRyder Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Well, I am in the market for a new case, Now I really like the Thermal take case. and I was wondering if I could get an opinion on which would be the better choice: http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/xaser3/v1000a.htm or http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/Damier/v5000a.htm or http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/WinGo/v7000a.htm If any one has one of these cases, lemme know how good they are for cooling, and as I am willing to spend about 250 CAN(with a min 400w PSU) these all seem to fit my budget. I really like the first two as they have the temp monitor on the front. But the the WinGo, looks the best. So any suggestions would be welcomed. Exegesis Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 I'd go with the v5000a. I almost went with it myself but decided to go with the less conspicuous WaveMaster.
Will Smith Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 the xaser cases suck. geta very nice all aluminum case (ie. Lian-li, Coolermaster) and do the mods yourself.
bigred Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 the ttake cases there look nice, but have horrible air flow. the coolmaster wavemaster looks good, cools good, and is built very well. I personally hold a grudge against lian li. if they could ever make a case that isn't made out of razor blades I might try them again. another choice I like even better than the case already mentioned is enermax. the cs1082 series cases are like the thermaltake v1000 cases (same chasis) but lack that dumb looking, poorly ventilated front bezzel
BeatRyder Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Thanx Bigred, I like that one too. But here are my next questions... 1) Does this one come with all the same fans as the v1000? Bu that I mean is Identical accept for the front? 2) Can u get them with a window?
bloodking Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 The Enermax cases never come with a window...you will have to make it yourself...enermax only mkaes cases for stylish design...not for modding people and the fans in the case. Enermax doesn't even ship it with fans so you will have to place them yourself. also the enermax doesn't have the blowholes like the TT cases do..you will have to make them yourself. i have seen both the TT cases and the enermax cases....the enermax cases look alot better and have smoother finishes just my two cents
BeatRyder Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 What about the RaidMax Storm Case? Any thoughts on it? http://raidmax.com/products/products_displ...=5&cID=1&pID=41 It comes with a few fans and a 350w PSU,
General Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 (edited) im not a big fan of TT cases myself. especilly the newer ones. they are way to tacky i like this one. and it comes with a 500W PSU only 20 bucks extra what your willing to pay. this is a canadian store btw. edit: oops. the site is www.memoryexpress.com check em out they got alot of gret stuff. Neo Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Check out Kingwin, they make some pretty dope cases and they are better priced than Lian-Li http://www.kingwin.com

Draco Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 I bought a ttake case a while ago, the 1000 series. The cooling rocks, my computer runs load at about 37 C. Other than that here is the problems that I have had with my case: 1. Wire management is really horrible and that makes for bad air flow. 2. My graphics card does not fit in to the clipping system correctly so I had to break the clip, and rig it using the screw holes which was not easy 3. If you use hard drives with serial ata adapters then the case side does not fit on at all (I believe that you can change around the position of the drives, but I have not had the time to try) 4. If you use certain things in the 5.25 bays the little plastic easy in and out adapters don't line up right. 5. Last of all the dang case seems so flimsy, I have already bent the side panels, and I am very careful with the thing. The cooling is by far the best reason to get one, however you could just get a different case, cut a few holes, and toss in some good fans. Here is a link somebody showed me from another forum here, it is a computer that I thought looked really nice. http://www.xoxide.com/ufo.html
