I had my portable A/C running almost 24/7 and the bill was getting high. I need the extra heat now, so folding proceeds at full steam! On a sidenote, holy shitballs, I passed 15m! ivangela Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 You know, I hear people talking about how much power Folding takes and how much heat it generates but does anyone really keep their heater at a lower setting while Folding or have a significantly larger electricity bill from the extra 100W CPU or 200+ watts GPU running 24/7? @ 300W for 24/7 Folding, that's 3 cents per hour at 10c/kWhr, isn't t? With the GPU going on really cold days, it easily replaces a 1500w heater. I think it evens out, actually. Where most people run a 1500w heater, my GPU provides an even ~200w of heat. I have an electric heater down here in my office as it's in the basement. I'll see if I can run without when folding.
