Hyper Threaded Defends TOP 10 Spot!

I was shooting for the New Year, although in reality it wouldn't have happened until the first week in January, but defending his number 10 ranking for OCC FAH team, Hyper Threaded has decided to turn on his machines and Fold his heart out!

Ivangela's attempt to enter the top 10 has been thwarted, at least for the time being!

I took a bit of a hiatus from folding during the warmer months. I had my portable A/C running almost 24/7 and the bill was getting high. I need the extra heat now, so folding proceeds at full steam! On a sidenote, holy shitballs, I passed 15m!

Once you start registering points, you move up the list pretty quickly.

Ya I should get around 120,000 ppd

I don't think I'll do this for long because of the power costs but it should be fun to see where I can get.

You know, I hear people talking about how much power Folding takes and how much heat it generates but does anyone really keep their heater at a lower setting while Folding or have a significantly larger electricity bill from the extra 100W CPU or 200+ watts GPU running 24/7?

@ 300W for 24/7 Folding, that's 3 cents per hour at 10c/kWhr, isn't t? We'll call it a dollar every day.

Not so expensive IMHO, especially if it alters your heat bill!

I will typically run just my CPU otherwise, it will become unbearably hot where the PC is. With the GPU going on really cold days, it easily replaces a 1500w heater. I think it evens out, actually. Where most people run a 1500w heater, my GPU provides an even ~200w of heat.

This winter is why I'm finding it so hard to pass you :whistling:

Yes. I plan to keep it that way.

I suppose if it offsets heat cost then it may not be so bad.  I have an electric heater down here in my office as it's in the basement.  I'll see if I can run without when folding.  Heater is 1500w but only kicks on every so often and only used when I am in the room.
