Black64 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 (edited) I saw your other thread as well, can you still RMA it? Sounds like your PSU is definitely failing. Edited December 27, 2011 by Black64

I hate the thoughts of buying another power supply.
paulktreg Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 All you can do is stress the rest of the hardware. Try something like Prime95 and Furmark at the same time? (I take no responsibility for any explosions! )

dling Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 (edited) Off to get a new psu. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0365789. This sucks. Decided on the egg because of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139034 vs this http://cart.microcenter.com/cart.aspx?RedirectUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.microcenter.com if the Microcenter site will not show, their out the door price was 254.39. A 50 dollar difference. Crazy. I can wait a few days. Edited December 27, 2011 by dling
Stonerboy779 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Did you use software to measure your voltages? Or did you get out a multimetr to test while it was loaded? I dont think, having seen your other thread, that things would be that wrong.

The reason I started looking at stuff was the computer kept restarting. It has restarted 5 times while trying to type this message. I was looking at temps using the occt stress test software when I noticed the voltages were off so I looked at in bios and then the evga e-leet software. I monitored them at loads while occt and prime 95 ran,did not change. It really sucks to have to spend 200 bucks just after Christmas on a fricking power supply. Boinker Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 You can use occt psu tester. I would get away from the BIOS voltage values and get an actual dvom that will be able to record what happens. A lab scope would be best but those are not cheap. Plug the leads into a moles connector and see if when you have a malfunction if it drops below 12 volts. Others then that there is always newegg and there return policy.
