Blagersdeath Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) I am looking to buy the Corsair Hydro Series H100. I currently have a HAF X case. The radiator has two 120mm fans in it. On the top of the HAF X there are two 200mm fans. I was wondering if there was a way that I could change the fans on the radiator to 200mm, or If there was some kind of kit I could buy to put on the case so that I could fit the radiator on the case without having to cutup the case. I would be willing to put the radiator somewhere else too if I could. I am providing links to both the radiator and the case so I someone wanted to look and try to help me out, they can. ccokeman Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 You should be able to remove one of the fans and mount the radiator where the fan was. I will have to pull mine out and look though.
vandreadstriker Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I think he dosen't want to remove any fans from his HAF X but yeah, the only option is to remove either one of those 200mm fans and replace them with the H100 unless you want to try to mount it outside which I think is hardly possible without any mods.. Blagersdeath Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I don't want to remove a fan, but if it is the only way. Even if I remove one of the fans, I don't believe it will even fit then. The only reason I don't want to mod it is because I havn't tried it before, but I would be willing to give it a shot as long as it doesn't look like garbage at the end. vandreadstriker Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 It will fit since it's a 240mm radiator right? if you insist on case modding, cutting the windows could be a tough job..
Hoody_s13 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) I havent fitted a rad up the top of mine, but you can fit one while keeping the 200mm fans in place. If you look from the inside of your case up, you'll notice the two cross bars with recessed holes (to keep the screw head below the above fans). The rad mounts below the cross bars, not above. So you would have, from the top down: 200mm fan Steel top of case with cutouts/cross bars Radiator 120mm fans I thought it might be better to ditch the 200mm fans and stick on the 120's to that rad for a nice push/push config??? Prunes Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Shame you're not using the 922, cause then you could have the rad sitting on the side. But the side on the HAF X can only hold a 120mm fan right?
Blagersdeath Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 @Ecofriendly, the side fan on the HAF X is 200mm as well @Hoody_s13, I didn't notice those bars there before. That would be awsome If the radiator would fit perfectly on to that, I'll have to try. Yea it would be a nice push/push combo. @vandreadstriker, I also though that cutting the window would be a tough job thats why I didn't want to have to do it. Thanks for the info though, if those two bars accrossed the top that Hoody_s13 was talking about don't work then I will remove one of the fans to stick it up in there. ir_cow Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 (edited) i couldnt get the radiator and fans both inside the case because the one of the fans would hit the memory slot latches. best thing to do is mount it inside with one fan and the other on the outside. i guess it depends on how ugly you case the case looks. best of luck, i just ended up doing an external loop with a RadBox. Snoopvelo Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Now available on Newegg just ordered mine. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181017
Speedway Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 For $30 more and a bigger rad you can get a full blown WC loop from XSPC with the Rasa 750 RS360, and for only $10 you can get the same size rad in a real WC loop with the RS240 kit.....both are better deals IMHO. I mean I like Corsair's self-contained water coolling solutions, and loved my H50 when I had it. But, for just a little more you can really get your build wet....so to speak
