Shamma Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Hi, I'm new to the forums and I need some help. I currently have my i7 920 D0 overclocked to 4ghz. every so often 1-2 weeks I get a bsod playing games like bbc2. I tracked it down using windbg and the main culprit seems to be dxgmms1.sys. I have read elsewhere that my ram could use a voltage increase but I'm really not sure cause this is the first time I have overclocked my computer. Here are some of the settings for my ram. dram freq ddr3-1539. qpi/dram core voltage 1.4. dram bus voltage 1.65. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. wevsspot Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Shamma, one more request........ Post up all of the current BIOS settings in your AI Tweaker menu. Once we have those we can certainly give you some recommendations for possible changes.

wevsspot Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 PCIE frequency - no need to have it at more than 100 until you get insanely over a 200 bclk CPU Voltage - with Hyperthreading enabled you need to figure about .03 to .05 more cpu voltage than if it were disabled - accordingly I'd change your cpu voltage to 1.30V - 1.31V depending on your cpu voltage droop Your QPI/Dram voltage is too high for your memory running at DDR3 1539 - reduce QPI/Dram Voltage down to somewhere between 1.25V and 1.30V Those are the three main things I see. Shamma Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Thank you very much, I'll give it a shot. The bsod's happen once every 1 to 2 weeks so I guess I'll just hope it goes away.
Boinker Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Will it fail under occt or prime95 or is it just a random failure?
Shamma Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Prime runs fine, It happens why I play games like bad company 2. Though it is kind of random, once every week or two.
