jjjrmy Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I'm looking for a new laptop since I sold my Qosmio since it was too huge. I'm looking for something with: - Long battery life - Light - Can play minecraft (maybe some TF2) - Under $700 So far on my list I have: ASUS UL80 Series UL80JT-A2 ASUS UL80 Series UL80J-BBK5 Thinkpad x120e Inspiron 14r Any other recommendations would be cool. Which one to get? I can never make up my mind.
Imagine Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I can happily recommend you a laptop based of the compal nblb2 barebone with an i3-330m, 4gb RAM and 5650m that should be enough right. Battery life should be good. On my nblb2 I get 4 hours with an i7 720qm in there.
the_dude Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) Out of all of those, the Dell would be the easiest one to fix if anything dies after the warranty has expired. The others on your list can be a little hard to find motherboards for. It looks kind of like the Thinkpad might be the best option for the game you want to play. Yeah, that Compal... forget finding a board for that thing...... Edited April 3, 2011 by the_dude
Spl_181 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I have a Asus UL50VT, I love it. I have yet to have any issues. I would be hesitant to buy a recertified laptop though. If you decide to get the UL80J-BBK5 you will have the 1 year accidental damage coverage.
jjjrmy Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I have a Asus UL50VT, I love it. I have yet to have any issues. I would be hesitant to buy a recertified laptop though. If you decide to get the UL80J-BBK5 you will have the 1 year accidental damage coverage. According to this: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Mobile/137 The Asus UL80Jt says it has 8hours of battery life on there but 9 on newegg. But it weights 4.64 lbs. And the reviews are a little meh, but it has 14" screen. The x120e has 7hours battery life. The reviews are pretty good. But the FN and CTRL keys are bothering me. It is lighter but smaller screen. What do I get?

jjjrmy Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 hp dm1z amd e-350 $449 great for what your looking for Or x120e you were looking is great. The x120e is sorta small. I was thinking maybe the dm4t. But I really like the Dell e6410.
