I was thinking that earlier. If Bulldozer comes out before Sandy Bridge gets fixed, I might have an issue on my hands.

Ya? Are we talking equiviant to i7 2600k? Somewhat comparable?

As previously stated, I have no allegence to either. More reading to do.

Hmmmmm.....

No one really knows what Bulldozer will offer. But I sure can't wait to find out!

Intel's blunders sure gave Bulldozer plenty of time to come out - I can smell the war machines burning from both camps

Intel fired their first salvo. Too bad they had the wrong coordinates, and missed by a mile

I really want to know if AMD will offer better performance than Intel with the new chipsets. It probably won't be worth it to me, since i'd have to change my watercooling loop to account for the new socket (I have an 1155 back plate for my cpu block), as well as the core components, but it'll be interesting, certainly.

Tell me if this makes sense. My current rig seems to be doing pretty as far as gaming goes.

If I were to invest that $700 in maxing out the CPU to say, This one

and either bumped up my existing ram to 8GB -or- added faster ram.

Or should I just hold on for a bit longer.

Here I go rationalizing again. Make it stop!

Don't do that. Just go with the new build.

Shelling out $700 for that processor, especially now, is just pointless. You'll be getting MUCH better performance if you just wait for SB to be fixed, or for Bulldozer to come out.

DONT DO IT, IT'S A C2Q!! (which isn't bad but still very overpriced if found new)
