cjloki Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 wow I am liking that case. Can you make me one? xD well, one day (future) i am considering making about 20 pieces (different designs, and much more complex) and see how they sell...but for now, no well you've certainly made them nice enough to sell for good money,....well done ! Crow47 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Those are really impressive cases. I'd be curious to see a cooling comparison between a wooden case and a normal steel/aluminum one. Also, how much does the mATX one weigh?
bxcounter Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 , how much does the mATX one weigh? Which one ? All three cases are mATX ! Red one (previous project) is around 1,5 kg if i remember correctly. Paulownia tormentosa is the type of wood that was used and all i can say with my experience so far is that it is by far the best type of wood to use for building pc cases. Reasons for that are connected with carpentry work and the way paulownia behaves over time (doesn't shrink). One i am working on now should be around 4 kg. (well that's classic pine)

Scott P Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 That looks like a great project. If I wasn't behind on my current woodworking projects, I'd consider thinking about one.
bxcounter Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) So it is finally done (thanks for the support), well 98% would be more accurate, since I still have to align magnet holders that hold the PSU/HDD door in place and install some simple led lightning inside. At least hdd led eyes work as planned ... so let me present you some info and shots... Installed : MB: Asus Maximus Gene III (s.1156) CPU: i7 870 (@ 3.6 at the moment) COOLER: Prolimatech Megahalems (2 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM) + Noctua NFP14 FLX (exhaust fom case) + Zalman ZM-STG2 GPU: Radeon 7850 2gb PSU: Modular Chieftec Nitro BPS-550C Noctua NFP14 FLX is screwed in aluminum tube inserts with engraved thread (same as MB holder). ps Edited February 3, 2014 by bxcounter
Scott P Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 It looks like a reindeer on the side. Great job on that case.
bxcounter Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 It looks like a reindeer on the side. Great job on that case. Yeah it kinda does... It was hand drawn with rapidograph in between layers of varnish (between first and second coating of four total)
