RobBan-Swe Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 This Gigabyte 790FXTA-UD5 is fastest in any test with medium overclocking 3800-3970mhz and ddr3 1800-1840mhz. Really superfast ! but when to overclock bigtime it is a huge instability even with 19c Water very dissapointed I overclocked my AMD 955 + ASUS M4a79t to 4320mhz. After 2 weeks of tweeking with New improved cpublock,20-25 % better cooling capacity same 955, ddr3-1800, 4870x2,hd, and soundcard, Gigabyte790FXTA-UD5 only pulled of 4000mhz and ddr3 1840mhz 9-9-9-24, 1.998v It is a nice Mobo Gigabyte790FXTA-UD5 with all the right stuff usb3 sata3. but Im going back to ASUS !! insan3 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 maybe u just a crappy board ?
RobBan-Swe Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) maybe u just a crappy board ? No i dont think so, the mobo works really super upp to 3970mhz and it work fine with ddr3 1800. I notice that a have to run the memory at 2-2,1 v even 1333, 1600 or 1800 If i try standard settings 9-9-9-24 1,5-1,9v volt it wont work i have to push the modules to its limit. I tested with XP-32 and win7-64 same results. Asus did not like win7 or vista. only XP 4320mhz Maby the new mobo wants new 1,5 volt ddr3 1800 that could be the case <_< HT and NB is ok it works great from 1800-3000mhz I can run my 955 with original fan as it is now at 3970mhz at 1.45v ...booring nearly 5000mhz and reboot in bios is nice on water And i built a new better cpublock so im in with 4300-4400mhz the question is when i try new ddr3 modules in the end of february when i got my paycheck RobBan Edited February 13, 2010 by RobBan-Swe
