DLS2008 Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Real Temp and Core Temp are both excellent programs. That's assuming you only want to monitor your temps and nothing else.
IVIYTH0S Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Real Temp and Core Temp are both excellent programs. 100% agree
Kingfisher Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 I use core temp and real temp at the same time if nothing else than to check them against each other to be sure I am getting accurate readings during stabiltity testing. Verran Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Core Temp and Real Temp are the best and they're both pretty much the same thing. They just have different modifiers applied to the readings. Personally, I like Core Temp because Real Temp usually reports lower temps and I'd rather err on the side of caution.

I usually pick the one with the highest temps and use that for safety
ebarone Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 I use HWMonitor, it reports the same as RealTemp and CoreTemp and I like the way it looks better, plus it gives gfx card temps. Cant go wrong with any of those though.
Cannan Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 I use CoreTemp and RealTemp together as well. I also use SpeedFan, although sometimes that gives me a really high CPU temperature while the cores are reporting normal temps. For example, Core 0 and Core 1 will report 38C each, while the CPU temperature is 112C. Not sure what that is about
