IVIYTH0S Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Oh crap heck no, 40 dba is way too much for me. I'm looking for something in the low 30's. I like this one most, its a truly magnificent mix of power and sound. Better than the one you linked. http://www.petrastechshop.com/12scsysstcaf4.html If not, I might go for this one too. http://www.petrastechshop.com/12scsysstcaf3.html damn wish I heard about those slipstreams before I picked up my Ultra Kazes, I really love my fans they are just a tad too loud for me. IVIYTH0S Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 lol you gotta love them though! lol when mine is plugged in, people in the next room complain about the noise... HA! it'd be hard to part with them. They can really move some air, and they still have a certain quietness to them. I just think for the one day I finally go water (probably a future 1366 configuration), then I might use something a little quieter like a slipstream scythe. Onion Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 One last question. How loud would 37 decibels be? Would it be the same level as someone talking, shouting, whispering, a jet plane taking off, a vacuum cleaner (no, the last 2 aren't serious, I already have a general idea of what 37 is). OwinC Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Well if you are close to Best Buy Just check out the Dynex 120mm fans 73cfm 37.5dba. Then walk over to the Geek Squad Guys and ask to see how they are. They will plug it in for you to see how they are. At least that's what they did for me. Yes I do have 2 of them in my rig. Bad thing is they are $17 ea. OUCH! But they do the job for me.
Coors Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Screw BB and screw the Geek Squad...lol. I wouldn't give them a dollar for that fan.

OwinC Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Yes. And thank you. Plus It was my decision to buy those fans. And yes they did make a difference at cooling my rig down a couple degrees.
