Coors Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I think i'd have to side with newegg on this. The terms and conditions are all available for you on the site. One option you might be able to use though, if you haven't already signed for the package, is to refuse delivery. Though i'm not familar with Canadian laws but it would be worth looking into. Gr4vitas Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Yea its nothing to do with newegg, thats all UPS stuff. If you had taken it up with UPS you may have had a better outcome. On a personal level, newegg has always been more than legendary to me. All my stuff gets here in 3 days from the other side of the US even. I've never had problems with them and newegg customer service has always been more than superb to me. I'll always order ALL my stuff from them in the future just like I have in the past. Kamikaze_Badger Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I'm not seeing where NewEgg is at fault here. All the problems were from UPS, and NewEgg even offered to give you back $10 for UPS's screwup. I'd be pretty thankful for that. espiritu Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 (edited) I'm not seeing where NewEgg is at fault here. All the problems were from UPS, and NewEgg even offered to give you back $10 for UPS's screwup. I'd be pretty thankful for that. I don't really care about the $10 or i wouldn't have chosen a $40 shipping method for an $11 item what bothered me is I needed the product urgently. Additionally I gave them the option of crediting me the difference of the Expedited and Standard shipping($20 more) and they refused consider it. Most reputable online computer retailers have the length of time explicitly shown in the line where you select the shipping option. Like tigerdirect or frys. Not in some obfuscated link at the bottom of the page. Additionally, it took well over an hour to complete that chat and contact a supervisor, after which I emailed the manager who has not responded to my email. Then I posted my complaint online. It's extremely misleading to call a shipping method "Air" or "Expedited" and then hide behind a clause somewhere else on the site that specifies a delivery window similar to standard. Standard is 5-10 days Air or Expedited is 4-9 days Edited December 18, 2008 by espiritu
Coors Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 what bothered me is I needed the product urgently. If you needed it so urgently, why order from an website based in a different country? If I needed something quick I'd order from the US and not Canada. Should be vice versa for you. Better yet buying it locally would be the quickest. I'm not really buying the "urgency" part... I'm not really buying the "urgency" part... good question, but if you notice from the super long conversation...i ordered from newegg.ca not newegg.com and most online retailers that have a canadian presence ship from warehouses in canada, and since they don't say anything different I had no reason to expect that they wouldn;t also. The Smith Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 (edited) I've not had any troubles yet from Newegg.ca, and shipping was amazingly fast. For example, I ordered a P5N7A-VM, with free shipping. Here is the tracking information: All in all, it took three days to ship from their US warehouse to my door. Edit: Hey I just noticed in the tracking information that they do have a warehouse in Lachine, Quebec, Canada!!! Re-Edit: It's UPS warehouse Edited December 18, 2008 by The Smith
