no stress testing doesn't adjust any thing it just test your setup as is to make sure the current clock speeds are stable. all stress testing does is put a full load on the cpu and ram. read this guide it will help alot. guide if you really want a stable overclocked system then take the time and read.

Trial and error mate. We cant just tell you what setting to use, people achieve different overclocks than you would even if you were using the same processor/ram/video card ect.

Download ATITool and Riva Tuner to overclock your video card. Use Rivatuner to change the fan setting and overclock the card, then use ATITool's feature to scan for artifacts. Keep pushing it until you meet stability issues and then try to find your stable overclock.

Good Luck

just thought i'd let you know, with a FSB of 400, and a multi of 9x, there is no mathematical way you can be running at 3.8GHz...

that e8500 chip you got there has a stock multiplier of 9.5x so you have a 400MHz FSB with a 9.5x multiplier. just thought you'd like to know.

and yeah, a good way to find a voltage to run, is to set the FSB and vcore to auto, see what that auto vcore is, then start turning up the FSB a few MHz at a time, stress testing at every point, until you fail a stress test. then up the voltage 1 or 2 notches, then repeat.

that way you don't come up with crap like 1.6v to hit 3.8GHz...
