jimmysvt Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I posted in Trim's thread but didn't want to hi jack it and i also had a few questions. First off i'm new here and it's nice to meet you guys. I'm working on building a new gaming rig and have decided to go with the e8500 but am having trouble deciding on a motherboard, i think i've finally set my sights on the following boards, it will be overclocked buy just wanted some opinions and a reason why you chose what you did http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813136053 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813136059 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813138118 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131297 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128346
ccokeman Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I have played with the Asus you have listed as well as the MSI P45 Platinum and both did well with My Q9450
jimmysvt Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 well i think i've narrowed it down to 2 boards the DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS or the Biostar Tpower i45 any input or recommendations would be really helpful, thanks all

jimmysvt Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 e8500, for right now a 4850 but plan on moving to a 4870 x2, still looking for a case, corsair 650w power supply, 4 gigs ram, seagate 640gig hard drive, mainly a machine for gaming, and some overclocking
Hyper Threaded Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Of those two, the DFI is better suited for the job.
jimmysvt Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 but which one the lanparty dark or the lanparty ut
ARandomOWL Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 UTs are the best. The DK is good but has fewer options & lesser cooling. The DK should be fine unless u are going for extreme OCing.
kitfit1 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 The UT has only just been released, so it's a bit early to make a call on it yet. I've had mine since friday and so far she's looking good. If you can wait a couple of weeks to see the UT results, it could well be worth the wait.
HITandRUN Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 If you still interested in a new mobo! I have the Biostar TPower I45 in my for sale thread. Its like brand new since I only used it for a few hours and some FSB testing. Let me know if you are interested.
troy5061 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 To be honest they are all excellent boards.
philbrown23 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I have the biostar tpoer and have been able to hit 5ghz 3d benchmark stabvle on water more than once, it has very user friendly bios options to, unlike the DFI and ASUS P45's that have 30,000 options and moving one can . up the whole day. I highly suggest the biostar, even for quads they have gotten well over 550 fsb and for a quad that is ALOT.
