Jachyra007 Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 I can recommend thesehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820146567 Less to worry about with the rebate and Im currently priming mine at ddr2-1100 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1v They are hand picked or so I was told and clock better than the 800 sticks... I think a e2140 would be sufficient, they have the M0 stepping out which all do over 3.0ghz (20s Superpi 1m) My e6750 doesnt like the blood iron at all, Ive tryed countless settings to get over 465fsb stable at any setting. Could be a bum chip I suppose but doubt it. Those Crucial BL2KIT12864AA663 make it up to 1000? Thats a pretty good increase! I'm not really concerned with rebates - it'd be nice but its not a main selling point. I hadn't looked at DDR2 prices until now, and they are dirt cheap! I mean, I was expecting low, but wow, how did that happen? :eek2: What multiplier are you using with the e6750/465 FSB? Like powsmowl said, how would having 1/4 of the cache affect the system? Since now I'm shopping for myself as well - its a good question to ask:cool:
Angry_Games Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 might want to consider upping to a 600W PSU though unnecessary Antec 500w is more than enough psu for this build
radodrill Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 might want to consider upping to a 600W PSU though unnecessary Antec 500w is more than enough psu for this build Was thinking more in terms of upgrade potential; but for the current specs the 500W is good enough. Angry_Games Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Was thinking more in terms of upgrade potential; but for the current specs the 500W is good enough. that antec 500w will last him through almost any future upgrade other than say an 8800GTX or such. 8800GT or GTS no problem at all. Jachyra007 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Finally bit the bullet, and bought the following for the girl: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.33GHz Model G.SKILL 2GB 2x1gb 800 F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ Hanns·G JC-199DPB Black 19" 8ms DVI LCD Monitor Sony NEC Optiarc 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model AD-7190S ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT I was so inspired, I got the following for myself: DFI BLOOD IRON P35-T2RL LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.33GHz Model G.SKILL 2GB 2x1gb 800 F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ G.Skills were 1/2 off instantly, and since things have to come out of my case, its an excuse to redo my watercooling loop (algae, bad tubing layout) and all the programs get to be reinstalled.
