Just got it installed, fired it up and I'm already 10 degrees lower at idle than the lapped big typhoon i had 24-25 versus 34-35.this is on the default setting of medium. Ambient is 21c. So far so good.

What are your Orthos/dual P-95 full load temps?

Right now running Orthos blend 356x9 1.38 vcore temps seem to be holding

right around 50-52c.I'm using Speedfan calibrated with TAT.Unit is set on high.

Do you think that 50-50c is a little high?

At full load, I run 52-55c with my thermalright SI-128.

I was looking to get this so that my temps would get lower than what I am presently getting/

I was playing around with this new camera I got, and I was able to get one really good picture out so far...

...Not bad for a 2.1 MP camera, huh? :tooth:

60 is ok for C2D as they run hotter than AMD.I just replaced the TIM with Arctic Silver5 to see if it makes any difference.I also like it since I don't have to remove the motherboard to swap out cpus.

@ Prospector, (not trying to hijack the thread)

Why don't you try some Shin-Etsu instead of the AS5. From what I have read about Shin-Etsu, it out performs the AS5 by a few degrees. It could help drop your temps by a few more degrees. I have also read that it lasts much longer than AS5 over time once you get your heatsink mounted well.

  • 1 month later...

It would seem that these literally live and die by the ambients. My 165 never touched higher than 52... even when I pumped 1.6v, ran 3.1GHz+ and had some crazy 25+C ambients. That was on water though.
