red930 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Don't suppose you can just move it to a folder so you don't have to see it?
snugglealufacus Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 it wont move, i get the same error. i tried to go to its properties and hide it, but every time i refresh my desktop it unchecks the 'hidden' option in its properties and remains there. radodrill Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 If you have a Symantec recovery boot disk you can boot from it and delete the file in their explorer. You may also want to try the NTFS Reader. It is a DOS based utility that allows you to copy data to/from NTFS drives i.e. recovering files when the OS quit working. Fenix-Dark Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 try deleting it via the command prompt, there have been some occasions in which that was the only way for some files to be deleted
ollietwinam Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I had that once. Open Nero or similar program and delete it through that... Similar to radodrill's post I guess
laserred Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Download a little program called Unlocker, it doesn't give a rats butt if Windows has the file locked or not. If it can't find some way to delete it realtime, it schedules it to be the first OS thing does upon the next reboot. Very helpful for getting rid of spy/ad/mal-ware programs that use Windows' own security functions to ensure their own continued existence. Nightshadow Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Why not just boot in safe mode and delete it that way? I know system files can be deleted in safe mode.
ReelFiles Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 If unlocker doesn't work, which happens every so often, get a live CD OS, like BartPE or Ubuntu and try to delete it.

If you read snugglealufacus's first post he already tried that. The file would have to be deleted before windows loads; symantec or NTFS reader to the rescue. I know Avast has a boot time scan that would probably work to delete it as well.
