General Septem Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I was getting low 40s when I first installed it, but with good airflow over the board it actually went down to mid thirties, which I'm very impressed by. They say a caseless system runs cooler, but I think that if you have a well designed case with lots of airflow the reverse is true. Angry_Games Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 unfortunately in my testing over the years, caseless setups always run cooler because there is no air restriction like in a case (even the best cases), and there is no ambient heat (ie: heat that is absorbed by the metal of the case, or worse, heat that cannot be absorbed by acrylic/plastic/wood cases). I always set my rigs up caseless first, and see how far they will go, then I end up putting them in a case and 99% of the time the temps are higher all around (rarely too high to continue though!) jaylar Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 ok all i did this mod with the m/b still in was quite easy here is how i did it first of took out a few wires cables that where in the way .removed my graffics card. then put a small screwdriver at the side of the plastic pin and moved it out a bit to allow me to get my Pincers on to the plasic screw and cut it now it did not cut all the way it left about 1/2 mm so then i did the same the other side.then i got my needle nose plyers and twisted the ends and of they popped out.ok now when i removed the fan the pins where a little to big to be pushed Though the board so i got a set of nail clippers(lol)and snipped them off be carefull not to Touch m/b and the pussed them though and out they fell too the bottom of the case. im glad i Watched ag insall video b4 hand as it gave me a look at how it worked Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes it does, I don't remember what kind of temps I am getting now, but the VC-RF dropped the temps more then I expected it to. If I get a chance, I will post my temps now with the VC-RF.
