FurBurglar Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Great tutorial. I installed my Evercool today and it dropped my chipset temps 3-4 degrees. Thanks A_G!

Guest LithoTech Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Just an update on BW usage. It's 18.5 GB so far this month. Â Amazing, it's as steady and popular as ever! Â Â I didn't get the temperature drop I was hoping for, and I've come to the conclusion that it's my video card that is the reason. It is one of the hotter running cards, and the extra temp in the area is dumping onto the chipset. Â I plan to verify this soon with a couple modifications -- toying with a fan I have in the area and try to redirect the hot air elsewhere better, and move the vid card down to the second PCI-e slot. Â If I am right, moving to the next slot should show a significant difference, and if so I'll report back here.

Sethlan Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 the Evercool works on the RS482 also, as does this new Iceberq i'll be showing everyone soon  Right on, I can not find anywhere in North America that sells the stacker crossflow fan and the evercool vc-re, that ships to Canada. But there is a few local stores that sell the Icqberq stuff. I did not want to pay for shipping from 2 places.  Looking forward to seeing some results. jcll2002 Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Is there a way to remove the stock cooler and install the evercool without removing the board? I mean is it absolutely necessary to remove the mobo?

I mean is it absolutely necessary to remove the mobo? Not really. If you don't care about the plastic pins, then you can cut the heads off, and then push the plastic pins through.
