ravix Posted September 17, 2003 Posted September 17, 2003 (edited) If you spray paint your monitor, be sure to take it apart, like bishop said. Also, be SURE that you don't end up covering any of the ventalation holes. A monitor doesn't have fans like a computer, and if you cover up the ventilation, you'd be surprised how quick it will die. Â Good luck. Edited September 17, 2003 by ravix
Sainou-Kun Posted September 17, 2003 Posted September 17, 2003 My friend covered the vents on a monoter and about 1 week later. POOF...-smoke- Uh oh.. XD So yea Just becareful.
Gigashadow Posted September 17, 2003 Posted September 17, 2003 you don't need to take it apart if your only painting it, that's pointless, just cover yoru screen. Trust me I paint them all the time. Just be sure the paint is DRY before you go pluggin it in. You will get very little paint on the inside anyway.
Sainou-Kun Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 you should take it apart just to be safe.
Gigashadow Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003 Uhm ya if your bored and have nothign better to do, so little paint gets in it doesn't matter if you take ti apart or not. Anyway it's up to ya all how you want to do it, but it's preaty pointless to go through the trouble.
chillcool68 Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 I came up with a good idea,, I wanted to avoid painting my monitor, so to have it match my Blue color scheme of my PC and misc.. I went to the auto parts store and searched around a couple of different ones before I found some Blue pinstriping, you can do a lot with it,, used my exacto, knife and cut away,, looks good, and matches as well
ctellis156 Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 you can spray paint it without dismantleing it. I did mine about a month ago, just taped off the screen and any larger vent holes. Be sure to prime it first.
Gigashadow Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 Also be sure to scruff it up or the paint will just peel off, just wanted to add that in case you haven't done ti yet.
